I was just wondering whether anyone has been to Frogpool Manor since it's been taken over by Speedgate Saddlery...

I have been looking on their website and they have some nice bits and not to far from me so I'm going to pop over there either tomorrow or Wednesday, I have never been before and have only ever used Speedgate for shopping but fancied a change

I just wondered what people think of it compared to Speedgate and is it worth the extra miles from Speedgate!??! I heard that it went down hill while it was being taken over but thats understandable, but I was wondering if anyone has been recently and can tell me what it's like :)

I have used Frogpool a lot over the years (it is very close to my work) and found them very good - especially the sales! I also used Speedgate as an alternative, which were also good - nice big choice. I hope this merger won't result in higher prices as now they are not competing?
 
I've always preferred Frogpool to Speedgate by far. In it's heyday Froggers used to stock far more stuff giving the customer much more choice. I don't like the fact that at Speedgate they often only stock a couple of choices. When things started going a bit pearshaped at Froggers it was alleged that they couldn't afford to restock the shop so the stock they held dwindled slightly but now it's been taken over they have restocked it. Still better than SG even though SG own it now.
 
I am a big fan of speedgate and frogpool. Service/delivery etc top class.

The best thing is, they will pricematch! I have had a few things where they pricematched!
 
Frogpool has much more of a selection, but I find the staff at Speedgate much more friendly and informative IMO!
 
I would recommend going a little further round the M25 to Ingatestone saddlery, fab choice, range and staff, also a brilliant coffee shop, I quite happily drive past Frogpool (I have found its gone down hill lately) and Speedgate to go to Ingatestone as prices are very competitive -I got a 400g turnout for £38!!! and its fab
