HI

anyone here around Whaplode - thinking of moving there as its not too built up, whats the horsey scene like? also the riding, I see there's bridleways along a long drain?

any info/

Lived in Crowland a few years back which isn't far away. It's very flat (fens) but riding is normally OK as roads are pretty straight. Sissons Farm on the north of Peterborough hold some events - are other venues a bit further afield too. Are lots of horses out that way as land is cheaper than Cambridgeshire/Northants.

I used to live in Gedney hill a few years ago - just up the road.
It used to be a good horsey scene when I was around and Wisbeach riding club was going. - Lots of local shows.

One thing I would say is check the farrier situation. I have heard that people in that area and out towards Boston have errible trouble getting a farrier to come out. Othe r than that I loved my time there -- very friendly.
