Mrs T and I headed off to do the combined training today, I think it is only fair to admit that we are both out of Pony Club these days but it was open to all
. The weather stayed fine and the ground was beautiful
My warm up for the dressage was a little 'hot' as big open grass spaces are exciting apparently
Didn't see much of Mrs T's test as I was desperately trying to gain control of my horse! This is a pic of us just about to start:
test was ok but a bit rushed and tense. Judges comment was 'lovely keen and forward going horse"
Wonder if she saw me cantering at speed round the warm up!
We didn't know it at the time but Mrs T and I were on exactly the same dressage mark when we went in to showjump. Mrs T produced a lovely rhythmical clear round in great style:
Then my turn, we were still excited to be out on grass and got a bit careless and flat into the first fence to roll a pole. The rest of the course jumped well although I'm not sure how much control I had at times - took a couple of flyers
Was pleased with how keen she was though and she was thoroughly enjoying herself. The lovely PC team let me school round again and that was a much nicer clear round so very pleased.
Mrs T clinched 1st place on the gorgeous Bernard, and I took 2nd. It was a lovely fun day, well run on beautiful going. Bit thanks to SNPC.
This is Bernard and Jemima quite liking the look of each other:
And this is Jemima looking a bit tired after all the excitement....
Thanks for looking
