So today we got up at the crack of silly o'clock (6.00am) left home at 6.30am to get to SV for our 8.30am round! (I blame mum she told me to ask for an early time, cos she was running a dressage comp at Warren Farm!). I have had flu all week so Sov has been ridden twice since last JAS, but I have to say he worked in really well even though I only managed 6 fences before I felt like falling off!
I decided to save my energy for the round
Went in and wanted to do a walk canter trans to impress the judge, that didn't happen
, and then we fiddled the first fence, was going ok, but did a huge head up fliddy when I took a steadier before the 4th sent it flying and then had the 6th (piano planks!) the rest was fine, probably because I couldnt breathe and had stopped interferring!
All in all quite pleased with him, another venue under his belt and another good performance from him (less said about me!). Jeanette Brakewell was judging and very diplomatically commented 'got better as round went on and picked up a good rhythm on xc phase.'
Felt like a sack of poo this afternoon though
