Sorry to ask, but I could do to know where there's snow settling tonight in Somerset, Dorset, Wilts and Gloucs areas... ? Any help gratefully received! xx
Thank you! Things were looking pretty hairy on the Mendips and Blackdowns earlier, but nothing's really due to settle on low ground I don't think, just the hills... x
Thanks - I'm trying to get a handle on potential school closures tomorrow, and to work out whether to make one of my poor colleagues stay up all night working on the radio because of potential probs on the roads!
Apparently there is blizzard type conditions on the Blackdowns... My OH drove up there earlier. Dunno if it is settling though. Fingers crossed no or I am going to be struggling to get to pony tomorrow.
we are right up the top on the mendips ..........and already have two inches of snow... on top of the 6 inches that is already here from last time. It is still snowing heavily outside.
I'm Mendips too - have had about and inch/maybe two since about 6pm. Due to have it MUCH heavier overnight. I highly doubt my tiddlers will be going to school tomorrow!
Ha ha I slipped over letting a car go by as I tried to pick my LO up from nursery yesterday.......... virtually impaled myself on a "slow down" sign that broke my fall. ..... the irony of it as I was stood still at the time lol
seems like the huskies are the only ones appreciating the snow!
It's depressing, isn't it. Still, we're supposed to get thawing temperatures on Fri and Sat here in the SW, but apparently quite a gentle change which should mean not too much flooding / standing water...?
Blackdown's had a bit tonight , but at the Eastern end not much - but I have loved the last few days as our minor roads with a covering of about 4 inches have been a fantastic all-weather gallop - My horse did a steady canter up a mile long hill 2 days ago - free, it would normally cost me a rider and gallop fee to do similar on local racehorss owners gallop!
