Hi, I am hoping to go somewhere this afternoon where I can box horses too and go for a ride. I currently keep horses in Barnsley so looking for somewhere not too far away probably in South or West Yorkshire. Does anyone have any suggestions where there is some good hacking we could go and enjoy?

Harewood sounds lovely as have been round there before on a fun ride but is perhaps a little far away as would take us about an hour to get there. Don't know where the other one is will google it now. You know of anywhere on Barnsley side of Leeds?
 
Otley ride looks fab too especially when I looked at map and it said gallops! Sadly it is also a little bit far away for today but I will def plan to go there another day when got more time. Thanks very much for the suggestions.
 
Thanks, we are right next to TPT so ride on that regularly but it gets a bit boring after a bit especially as much of it you can only do by riding up turning round and riding back again. We do have some lovely hacking but have done it all and fancied a change today. I was supposed to be going to a hunter trial but the thought of trying to scrub my very dirty poo stained grey horse clean this morning was enough to put me off going :-)

Sherwood Forest - have just turned up before about 4yrs ago & park ranger gave us a map of bridleways, no charge to ride there then but may have changed since.

Clumber Park (but think you have to book/pay & definately have to produce publc liability proof)

Also there is a new trail opened in Lincolnshire called the Lindsay Trail I think. A little further afield but it looks great xx
