Hi, sorry for another "How big do you think he'll get" question but i have a youngster who has turned 2 today (Happy Birthday Indi!!) and I'm worried he's not going to be tall enough for me?

He's a Shire x TB who is currently 15.3hh (at withers, back is 15.2hh) his bum is no longer taller than his withers and seems to have leveled out.

His dad was a 17.2hh Shire and his mum was a 16.1hh TB so we were hoping that he was going to make 16.1hh?

I'm quite tall (6ft) and anything smaller than a 15.2/3 ish i feel too long for.

Someone told me that this would probably be as big as he gets but others have said he'll have a growth spurt and some said that his Shire part hasn't kicked in yet as they are slow to mature.

Any advice?

I'm not selling him, regardless of his height...I love him too much :)

I f he only just turned 2 today then i think he'll easily make 16.1 but probably 16.3hh was he 14.3hh as a yearling i'v heard that add a hand rom yrling to 2yr old then add a hand till full grown and so far that has been true for my lad :) x

He grew quite allot in the last year. When i bought him as a yearling he was 14.2hh and a year later 15.2/3ish so your right.
Fingers crossed he'll hit the 16hh mark...knowing what an odd bod he is he'll probably end up making 18hh!!!!

I'd say 16.2ish at least by when he's furnished up at 5/6 probably.

Our current 4 y/o, is standing at 17hh atm and still growing, when he was 2 y/o he was about 15.3hh/16hh. He's finally filling into himself now but sadly is going to be one of these big gangly warmblood babies who won't be finished till he's 6 or 7 properly.

Edited - our old hw baby was out of a 15.3 and 16.2....and he was at 18.2hh at 4 :o He was a genetic freak hhaa.

It doesn't help that I'm 6ft...it's a nightmare buying jods, they always end up around my knees lol...oh well, we'll be odd bods together freaky tall with a freaky short as5!!! :D
