My 2 year old spaniel had CT scans yesterday to confirm hes torn the ligament in his shoulder. 4 weeks of lead walks and rest with physio, if no improvement he'll need a operation but its very risky.

Feeling incredibly unlucky at the moment! My gelding was retired this year due to neck arthritis diagnosed 7 months ago and my other gelding has just come back into work from a operation on his back legs in February this year. Both young horses.

My dog was the only thing keeping me going. Hes so down, poor soul. :( All I will say is thank god for insurance.. a front leg CT scan was pushing £2000! My geldings was less than that!

Blimey 2k for a CT scan. Things have got bonkers haven’t they. You wouldn’t pay that as a human.

Anyway, I digress. Hope everything is ok and the lead rest works. Ligament injuries take a long time to heal so don’t be surprised if it’s months rather than weeks.

Good luck

Thanks guys. Bought a snuffle mat which he loves and a harness. He doesn't pull but hes going to be on the lead so much I prefer him in a harness I think. He never even wears a collar, so its all new!

Hope he makes a good recovery. I would put him on Yumove to help the ligament too.

Hes been on Yumove working dog since a pup, so will continue on that.

A snuffle mat is a great idea, if you're looking for a long lasting chew to keep him occupied I'd recommend Yak Milk Chews. Our youngest Lab is a very enthusiastic chewer and they keep her busy for hours and hours. 🐾😍
