Spanish Boy arriving next week - EEKK!

I have no idea his name, but it does have a number of different translations, wheat coloured, olive skinned and flaxen. Wonder if he was a more golden colour at birth or perhaps his mane was more flaxen at birth?
His mother was called Espiga, which I believe is an ear of corn, so perhaps related to that?
His colour seems to change every day - it is a beautiful colour!!

Espiga is an ear of grain in general, so it would make sense that your boy is the wheat that comes from the ear ❤️

Just a little update on Trigueño :-)
He is doing so well and is everything that I had hoped for.
I have been hacking with friends, he is proving to be brave and solid, happy to go in front or behind. Great with traffic, although we haven't met anything big yet. He is fine with sheep, a little unsure with the baby lambs galloping around the fields, but doesn't do anything nasty, just plants, head up and then with some encouragement, moves forward.
He is nicely forward going, but not strong.
Had his teeth done this week, they were really bad/sharp, but stood like a soldier whilst powertools were used, no sedation required - bonus!
He is turned out for 8 + hours a day already, really taken to turnout, we don;t have great grass, which suits him, took him a while to suss out what grass is, but is happily grazing now and have started cutting down his tub of haylage in the field.
He is very green in the school, but a quick learner and we are doing ok, start lessons with my instructor next week, so we should be cooking on gas.
He comes in a little earlier (with our mare) than the rest of the yard and he is pretty chill about that, just does a bit of a flamenco dance when the others come in, very odd, but this is getting less and less, so am hoping that won't be a permanent thing.
Clipped my mare on Monday and showed him the clippers, turned them on - no reaction at all, took my smaller trimmers in the stable with him and still no reaction, so I will keep doing that and putting them on him over the summer and hopefully he will be ok to clip this autumn
He is VERY affectionate, a real love bug, just wants to be with you and loves a groom and scratch.
He has finally sussed out what treats are, although he still doesn't like mints. Carrots, apples, pears and bananas are now on the "like" list.
All in all, he is a super chap and I am over the moon with him, he is everything Sophie Gooding said he is and more.
I still can't quite believe that I bought a horse from Spain, unseen and it has gone so well.
Still no pics as this website doesn't seem to like mine!! 📷❌
