Hi all, how much would you pay/ask for an unregistered spanish type horse, 8yo gelded recently no competition record but nice paces and quiet to handle on the ground. Not novice ride, trained in "spanish moves" whatever they are..... :)

Height? and assume he is over here? as an unregistered or part bred Andalusian, then he is really worth the same as any other horse with the same history.

Hi Luci, I'd say 15.3 and yes, recently imported but no breeding history but registered with spanish horse society (GB) as a spanish "type" looks andi to my untrained eye although not a particularly good one.

got it wrong - thought it was you who bought the big 18 yr old clydie mare that we all fell in love with - whoops :rolleyes:

Sorry !!! Just carry on chaps.......*blush* sm xx

I wouldnt buy it frankly. If its unregistered and recently imported then chances are the person who imported it paid peanuts (ish). If it can do all the Spanish moves and is not a novice ride then that also tells me it may be a bit of a crackpot. Bargepole springs to mind. The price of PRE's are not as high as they used to be over here. Have a look round for a purebred with a bit of traceable history. I can thoroughly recommend them.

Sorry if I wasnt much help!

Depends on what you want the horse for imho. Mine is (alledgedly - have no proof) half Lusitano, and I think I might know who is sire is. He doesn't have the flash paces whilst ridden - although is very trainable, and I've no doubt could do the moves if trained to. But he is a fab jumper, with a pretty good (albeit limited) BS record and a lovely horse to boot.

I paid £2650 for him as a done nothing 4yo. So I would say definitely less than 2500 if the horse has no comp record. :)
