Thats to all of you who replied to my post yesterday.

I thought I would give a update of my friends horses condition

For those who did not see the post yesterday my friend had a call to say that her horse had been kicked and was down with a broken leg.

UPDATE...

They and the vet managed after a long time to get her up on her feet and loaded into a box to go off to the hospital.

she had been in theatre today for surgery it appears that her knee cap was smashed so they have removed what they could
and the prognosis is, so long as they can keep infection away then she will make it....hooray...

I must say though it is not all good as she was suffering with arthritis in her knees so this knee injury is going to end her riding days altogether which is a shame.....

WOW i am so glad she is going to make it you always hear of a broken leg meaning PTS. If it was my horse i would have had the surgery and as long as her quality of life is good then i would be really happy.

Hope the infection stays away in it all works out ok.

Im so glad your friends horse is going to make it, was going to post yesterday but it brought back too many bad memories (my horse broke his leg in the field on the gate and had to be PTS) and i was in floods of tears. Nice to know that its a happy outcome. xxx
