I understand this is a little cheeky XD Looking into buying a horse, after having had a completly free loan (all expenses paid for last 5 years, lucky me!)

But please could you give me a rough idea how much you spend on the upkeep of your beast? Monthly, weekly, yearly or what ever!!

And if you really have time to kill please could estimate how much you pay for each of these :) I do have an idea but I might be out of touch!

I feel my bank balance cry already :p

Shoeing = £40 each every 8 weeks. I have 6. so thats £240 every two months

Vetting (for their annual jabs) = my vets have this monthly payment thing, i pay £8.50 per horse per month and that inclues all jabs and worming so thats £51 per month

Vets bills- for all the other random bits (yearly preferably) = normally just the call out fee for the yearly check so thats £300 for them all

Feed = about £200 (alfaf - a, and baileys lo-cal)

Rug maintence (annualy) = i normally dont buy many rugs, i'd say i spend £100 max

Tack maintence (annualy) = again, i normally dont buy it i'd say £50

cliping = YO does mine for free :D

Insurance = I'm on a monthly thing, it ranges from £7 to £18 a month for mine, £63 a month (i think)

Livery (and what livery your on please = D.I.Y and i get mine for free (i work for YO) should be £25 per week, per horse. should be £600 a month :eek:

Rug maintence (annualy) = £200ish

Tack maintence (annualy) = £100 a normal year but if we have to get new tack £800

cliping = We have the vet out to sedate him for this which isn't covered in insurance so clipping twice a year would cost us about £150

cliping = £40 for blanket clip but only needs one per year (not a very hairy beast)

Insurance = £350 per annum

Livery (and what livery your on please = Part livery which inlcudes bedding, hard feed etc but not grooming or riding is £70 per week/£35 week in summer when turned out but feed/bringing in/turning out etc still included.
