Sparkly browbands - Help me shop!

My mums buying me one for christmas, I just have to choose one. I've looked at Equiture, and theres some on ebay. Anywhere else to look? I've got about £50 to spend. Has to be with brown leather and quite chunky. Its to go on my cob so has to be quite chunky, but he has got quite a refined head for a cob. Hes dark bay and white

Any suggestions? My OH is refusing to look at anymore browband photos now :D
 
I have 2 from equine elegance on Facebook. Lovely lady to deal with, she couldn't be more helpful. She does bespoke designs and will put the crystals together and email you pics to help you decide what colours.
 
If your horse has a full forelock (sorry I can't quite tell from the pic) then avoid equiture, their product are lovely but my arab kept loosing part of his forelock in it every time I used it, so had to sell it on (at a significant loss) after using it 3 times for fear he would have no forelock left!

I have a wolds equestrian bling one, and as the bling is set into the leather, I don't have the same problem.
 
I just plait or tuck the forelock under, or leave it loose - tough native (and cobby!) manes won't be pulled out by them :)
 
Ive got a couple of Equiture ones and one from Equiens that was made to my design, I spotted one on the facebook page that I liked but changed the colour and size of the sparkly bits. All 3 are fab on my highland.

He has masses of hair, and gets his knickers in a twist if his mane isnt flat under his bridle. Getting caught in his browband would finish him off :lol:
 
I misread the title of this thread and thought it said "help me stop". I thought you had some kind of obsession with them and were looking for help. Think I'm losing it!
 
I did briefly develop some sort of obsession. My OH refused to look at anymore pictures and my mother said to stop messaging her as she isn't horsey and doesnt care that much :lol: I finally settled on one about 15 mins ago. Its from Equiens Browbands. 3/4 inch, brown leather and gold tones. I'm very excited!

and I am sorely tempted! We have his posh brown patent bridle and brown saddle but we do also have a black saddle and bridle, so I could get it in black and use it on that. Facebook is currently divided about what I should do, but my fingers are twitching wanting to buy it :lol:
 
Excellent choice. I might also recommend the blingtastic lines of sparkly spur straps, ear bonnets, headcollars and all sorts too :p

no, no, no, NOOO! :lol: Hes a huge hairy traditional cob and I doubt we will ever see the sparkly browband as it will be suffocated in hair :lol: She was utterly lovely though! In fact the sole reason I managed to buy one, is because I messaged her saying "HELP! I cant pick a browband, tell me what i want!" :lol:

Er. Never stopped me ;) My old traditional was ponced within an inch of his life, and now Fergus and his wee brother are treated much the same. Forelocks bounce and sweep back in the wind, y'know ;)

And that's what I always do when I want bling. "Mate, help me, Fergs needs something prettiful. Get on it :p "
 
Not meaning to be rude here - but wasn't whoever it was said they tuck the forelock under the browband taught to how to tack up? We were taught to never ever leave the forelock under the browband as it would be really uncomfortable for the horse, especially if the browband pulled down on the hair.

Feel free to shoot me if you want, I know some of you will be dying too now.
 
how to realise you are getting old...................................the thought of a blingy browband makes you go uggg or you get the feeling that someone has walked on your grave..................................................;)

I think it depends how oversized your browband is :eek3:

If your bridle fits and the forelock sits loosely and evenly under the browband, there's no reason for it to be uncomfortable...

I often use an ear bonnet in summer too - flies annoy him and I can't say I blame him for that.

Oh an no, I was never taught to tack up. I'm completely clueless, obviously. Never had a lesson or learnt any skills in my life. Clearly.

Try JB Browbands! Good quality, soft leather brow ands and they are completely customisable! They haven't had a single bad review yet! You choose the leather colour, size, colours of the bling (you can have as many colours as you want!) and even the colour pattern! They also do beaded browbands I think, and you can have a straight browbands, wave brow and and stuff like that :)
Another would be All Equine Accessories on Etsy, I think they were selling paracord browbands that look like paracord survival bracelets and paracord ones with a small tassel!
Both have fair prices and no bad reviews, would recommend them both :)
