Hi Everyone,

Not sure if you have seen my post from earlier today re my old chap and his mild spasmodic colic.

The vet came out again at about 11.30 this morning and his temp and heart were still normal - but he was showing some painful looking cramps and kicking alot.

Since having the buscapan again this morning he is looking brighter - but still occasionally cramping and kicking.

I have spoken to my vets again and they said as his symptoms are so mild just keep doing what I am doing - keeping an eye on him and taking him for a 5-10 min walk every hour or so - and it should pass.

If he gets worse later on they will come out again,

I just want the cramps and kicking to totally stop and him to be back to normal.

I feel so stressed out worrying about him, he is my oldest friend - I know he has had a fab life (29 yrs, 20 of them with me) but I am sure he has a few years left in the tank yet!

Whilst he certainly has not got any worse he deffo is not normal....

Please can you send the famous HHO healing vibes to my boy...

Many Thanks for reading,

A very worried Gemsie..

Lots of (((vibes))) for you boy and a hug for you. It is distressing seeing them in pain and you have done everything you can to help him so far. Just a case of monitoring him now and hopefully he will sort himself out.

Thank you all for your messages - its so heartbreaking seeing him in pain - he still has his super cheeky expression when he whinnies to me and his big fat adorable nostrils twitch round looking for a treat...

Its so nice to come on here and explain to people who love their horses as much as I do - my non horsey friends try to understand - but they just dont understand the bond you build up with a horse.

I dont think I could bear it if he doesnt get better...anyway - dont want to think about that - just focusing on he WILL get better.

Hopefully all the vibes will pay off and he will be back on good form soon, I will keep you posted as to his progess.

I hope he is feeling his old self before too long. Just a thought though have you tried him on Pink Powder. My old lad started to have digestive problems although not colic. Since I put him on PP I have had nop further problems with him.

Thanks for all the vibes, they seem to be working as the old fella went a good 45 mins without a cramp or a kick - then had a couple of minor tummy twinges and a couple of kicks - and he is now stood snoozing (no cramps for about 20 mins) in the corner of his little field.

I will be giving him another sachet of bute before he comes in to bed tonight, which I hope will give him a comfortable night and with fingers, toes and all else crossed I am hoping that his cramps and pains will be totally gone tonight.

I will be staying at the yard until about 9pm then my mum is going to check on him at 11pm - all being well at 11pm I will stop at home and I will be back with him at 5.30am....(he lives at mum and dads yard)

Please continue to send vibes to my lad, I deffo think the positive thoughts are helping.

Many thanks

Gem
