Anyone have experience of this? Have a foster dog, had her about 2 weeks and have noticed she leaks urine, especially after exercise.

Rescue estimates her to be 2 years old. She has had puppies so wasn't done before her first season.

Bless her, she knows its happening and starts licking away at herself.

Am off to the vets next week and I am aware bitches can suffer with this. I have a female dobie who is 7 who very very occasionally leaks urine but only a tiny amount. This girl leaks quite a bit in one go.

Thanks :)

Thanks guys. I think she was done in the emergency boarding kennels as they won't re home unless speyed.

Hopefully the tablets from the vet will do the trick

My old Collie Frodo had this problem, and for a while the medication alleviated it.Sadly the effects were not long lasting, and we tried all kinds of strategies, but to no avail.Eventually the situation was so bad we had to have her pts, which was the hardest thing i have done. She was the lovliest dog and at the age of 12 was still physically fit.Good luck with yours.

Oh Maggie that's awful :( she is only 2 so I am hoping something can be done. She has had such a horrible start to her life it would be lovely if she could have lots of happy years.

She knows its happening and seems to worry that she is making a mess bless her.

It's not necessarily spay incontinence - I would hate for that to put anyone off neutering - unspayed bitches can leak as well!

It could be anything from a UTI to a congenital defect with bladder/urethra/ureters etc. There are some effective medications if it turns out to be incontinence. :)
