Both our older girls are booked in to be spayed this Thursday, Both had their last season in January which I was informed was good timing.
The younger one now appears to be having a phantom pregnancy, she is discharging milk and her boobs are quite swollen.
Will this mean she can't be spayed? I know they prefer not to do it when hormone levels are high due to the increased blood supply and worry of extra blood loss.
I have been so scared of this day and put it off for nearly 2 years but it has to be done...any helpful advice please?
BTW I have emailed the vet (her preferred meansd of contact but not expecting a reply until tomorrow)

Thank you for reply, that's what I thought. Is galastop hormones? I won;t give her any more it was Delvosteron that messed both of them up last year and I will never use hormone treatment again :-(

it inhibits the production of the hormone that causes the phantom/lactation but tbh, if she being speyed anyway i wouldt be worried about it if it was hormonal. Giving something like Delvosteron is always going to carry the risk of mucking up cycles etc, just look at humans who take the pill etc - many have problems. the simplest answer is always to spey, honestly its no big deal, nothing to worry about and they bounce back quicker than youd think, plus its an excuse for pampering:D
