I will obviously talk to my vet about this, but just wanted a bit of a heads up....
I am getting ready to have my bitch spayed, but want to time it so that I have time off work so that it is easier to monitor her. At the moment she spends her days at the yard with my other dog while I am at work, I drop her off in the morning and the YO drops her home at night - wonderful arrangement, all for the price of chocolate!!
Anyway, I would like to be able to keep her at home after spaying until she is up to the greater excitement of the yard, playing with other dogs etc.
So, my question is what is the approximate recovery time post spaying? I am aware that it is a fairly major op, she is used to being crated but she is a terrier and a bit of a live wire! I don't particularly want to have it done at Christmas would would be ideal as work closes down, as I will be visiting family and she doesn't travel particularly well and don't want to give her additional stress.
Can anyone give me any advice?
Thanks!
