Do u think im weird! i went out in the field to check Doug in the rain and i ended up speaking to him for 30 mins does anyone else do it or am i just weird? He totally repaxed i waa stroking him lol and he rexaxed and rested his head on my shoulder!:D

I got soaking wet! i was asking questions like had some tasty grass!? i speak whilst i ride as it relaxes him lol and speak to Marmite in the show ring lol!

i talk to her a bit, i try not to too much when i ride but thats the time when she is called all sorts of things (cow, numpty, weirdo etc) :o
but you're lucky that you can chat to yours in the field! mine doesn't even look at me if i dont have a pink bucket with feed for her, only way to catch her! so no i don't realy get chance to talk to her in the field unless you count me again calling her all sorts of names when she runs of  i'm a mean mummy that really dislikes her pony and calls it names when it runs off or spooks at something silly like a puddle when it just went past a huge rattling lorry :D

I talk to my boy all the time, often have a long one way conversation! Think it makes them bond to us more than if we dealt with them in silence - what sort of relationship could you form with silence?!?
I think that is whats helped me teaching him to hack on his own - carry on talking to him and he knows I am with him and makes him relax. If I see something I think he might not like or if I feel him tense up slightly I start singing - helps me relax and he can hear my voice so soothes him too...also he is the only one who doesn't tell me to 'shut up your out of tune!' LOL
Now I must be mad too! x

I talk to baby all the time - she gets my day at work, whats happening with daughter and ife in general and in darker times tears into her mane and I sing to her to - when first bought her it was "biberty boberty" song from cinderalla(brilliant to sooth and calm) but also little chicken to the tune of "little donkey "- it doesnt matter what you say its the tone - soft and soothing or higher and encouraging and do you know baby listens and one day i expect her to start chatting back lol - the voice is amazing :)

topstripe so so so with you and what allowed me to actually ride let alone hack my mare - please everyone talk and sing to your horses lol - hey Topstripe maybe we need to start a club - but seriously do not underestimate the power of your voice - simple "ahahahahahaha " baby knows shes step to far no shouting just she knows - mmmmm a raised eyebrow works to lol

lol, yes, i was down there for a hour this eve and i talk constantly. to the point where i have been interrupted by walkers asking if its them im addressing.

Everyday and whenever with them.
Have stood in the rain/snow out in the field having a chat often, usually to the amusement of the owners who believe they have more sanity than to chat with an horse.

Been chatting to my old girl for years and years! Saddest thing of all is that she chats back...you can see her bottom lip moving in time to what I'm saying to her...she knows every word I say and it's mutual............honest!!! ;-D

I chat to mine. He understands every word! If he learnt to talk I would be in such deep *****!!!

I also sing if I get worried about anything out hacking. He immediately behaves, to shut me up!

always do. Call me weird, but I think he almost likes hearing me talk about my day, sure beats paying for a therapist ;)
He understands certain things like 'we're going for a ride!!' and 'just going to get your hay' etc. Quite sweet actually! I often do it without realising as well :p xx

Haha! I talk to my horse and dog more then I talk to most people :p

I'll have full conversations with them on a daily basis! They seem to listen more then any human possibly could too  Plus they don't judge me or answer back!

I talk my horse and dog-usually always in Motherese :o:o
I think the horse finds it relaxing and my dog thinks it's really funny! (He cocks his head to one side, it is so cuute)
And yes I may have given my dog a 'voice' which i speak to him in
At least i'm not a cat lady! :D:D

Yes of course I do. It would be weird not to - I find people who are silent around horses and animals eerie.

Yes, stood under the trees in my field this afternoon sheltering from torrential rain alongside my two horses ... one had its head on my shoulder, the other nearly falling asleep why I stroked his face - I had a chat with both and thought what a lovely way of spending a Sunday afternoon ..

lol snooz of cause it maters lol - but seriously i watch people act like robots round their horses no interaction with voice and just wish they would have a quiet 10 mins with thier horses just standing stroking and talking - it so so so builds a bond - brought daughters connie in tonight to check for her and we had a lengthy conversation regarding phone hacking lol he was def interested lol but i just love chattering to them :) xxx

i always talk to mine as well, proper involved chats and me laughing, singing, the works lol. I dont care if I look crazy, the horses like me ;)

the singing isnt so good though, ive had an unexpected walker pop up from nowhere and say, its all very well, but she prefers the joni mitchell version :D:D
