Me and my boy are new to this showing stuff. We did our first show today and I entered him into a couple of classes to get him use to it. We got a 2nd and a couple of special rosette, I'm not sure what they actually mean other than the fact that in five mins the judge realised my horse had special needs lol but I'm guessing its a well tried type thing? Can anybody clear this up for me? X

Sometimes I find the specials are nicer than the actual placing rosettes! I have some cracking ones! Up in front of my just now is a beuatiful black and red one from PUK - it's one of my favourite rosettes. I don't tend to get them very much any more as I don't do local riding club shows etc. just big shows where usually only the kids classes get specials to make sure everyone gets a rosette.

My scraggly teeny 'special' rosette is the fave out of my collection xD

My mare (RIP) who wasnt a jumper in any way lol, refused every single jump once in a little local show (jumps were about 12" off the floor... rofl), before thundering at it and jumping it brilliantly at the second attempt with no problems. The judge insisted i carried on even though i was eliminated, as it was experience for her. It brings back such happy memories! I laughed my way round that whole course, I giggled in the lineup which then set the judge off laughing, and she gave me a 'special' for being such a good sport. :D
