Special spaniel food - rip-off?

Was in the garden centre the other day and saw that Eukanuba have started making special Cocker Spaniel food. Never seen this before, not thinking of changing Henry onto it or anything but would be interested in people's opinions of this!

Have to say I'm not convinced of the need myself!

Seems like they have decided lots of people have Spaniels, so lets cash in!

Funnily enough, they do ten Breed Specific feeds, and I would say that they are probably the 10 most popular breeds!

Thing is I always thought of Eukanuba as pretty good quality food and would have considered feeding the normal stuff, but this kind of puts me off as it just seems so blatant a con...

I suppose, if you ignore the con aspect, it is aimed at novice dog owners, so they can feed their dog the right quantaties, etc etc.

They have a Lab food, maybe it would stop their being so many overweight Labs, I highly doubt it! But perhaps that is the reasoning behind it (other than making lots of money!!)

Royal Canin have breed specific ranges, they do one for GSDs which targets joints, sensitive tummies etc.

I think they do other breeds too.

Hehe! feed a bowl and get a calm, tired, well behaved dog that doesn't bounce around like Tigger

......no point in having a spaniel then.....
