Just read this on another forum..

"there was an arson attack at speedgate farm last night. Fortunately, owners live on site, no horses were injured and it was contained to a couple of barns."

This also means that there HT are cancelled on the weekend

God how awful

Noticed the HT had been cancelled - assumed because of the weather.

Was the arson attack aimed at the shop or the yard?

It was the barns behind the mobile home which were targeted. The fire brigade are still there damping down as some bits are still smouldering.

The people who live in the mobile home had to vacate with kids, animals etc in the middle of the night and there was a bit of a panic to get all the liverys lorry's moved as they were in danger where they were parked.

Luckily most of the damage was just to the barns and the hay and straw they contained though some farm machinery was also burnt out.

What pigs, I popped up there about quarter to 6 to try and pick up a rug, they were closed and I did see a fire engine there, wondered what that was all about didn't realise it was really a fire, thought they were having a check. Glad no horses were hurt, hope they catch the thugs, what an awful thing to do when animals and people are within harms way!

how awful, ours is bad enough with one barn and no foul play, can imagine the panic re: the lorries, glad nobody was hurt.
Gits who did it should be strung up >:(

it was pretty frightening to think what could have happened not just to the ponies but also the people who live on site, but thankfully just stock and buildings where damaged. thankfully all the ponies are fine and not effected at all, although it was far too close to home for all our likeing.
