what our your opinions ? persoionally i think its suitable to feed most horses and in the small quantitys its not going to make a horse gain weight and its recommended my the laminitus trust.

Its a great feed to full them up which is good if they are on rationed food, helps maintain weight but if fed correctly shouldn't put too much on and is non heating so won't fizz up your horse. It's easy to make (5 parts water to 1 part beet) and quick...even quicker if you use hot water.
Also find it useful to use a scoop (or at least the juice) if you have any powdered medicines to put in their feeds as it disguises the taste...sneaky!!!
Great for making boring chaffs tasty!!

we have now changed to equibeet, it is the same nutritionally but is soaked 24 hours like sugarbeet. I loved the convenience of speedibeet but like the price of equibeet better!

I feed it to my excitable TBX, feed merchant recommended it over normal stuff because it's got a lot less sugar. He has actually settled quite a bit.

24hr soak kwiki beet and no sugar chaff is the lowest sugar/starch feed I can find, it is good value and our girls do very well on it. Just need a carrier for supplements and this doesn very well.

i feed speedi beet to taz all year round, mainly just as a mixer for his feed rather than using water so he only gets about half a scoop in each feed, he's a good doer who is kept very fit all year so it fills up his tummy before he goes to the field and when he comes in, i love the conveinience of it only taking like fifteen minutes to make, especially when i forget to make it up alot!

The fact that it is approved by the Lami Trust only means that the sugar and starch level is strictly controlled. This does not effect the calorie content of the feed which is 12.4 DE/MJ. Feeds approved by the Lami trust can range from 7.5 DE/MJ to 12.5 DE/MJ. Therefore, Speedi-beet is good for weight gain if fed at the recommended levels.

Well, my three have been on it now for three years and there has been no weight gain at all - just weight maintenance. They love it and I like the fact that there is a high water content. This time of year I think it's especially welcome - they lap it up.

Its great as a bulker and to mix feeds up with. I always used to use it with topspec topchop lite chaff plus balancer but have recently switched to fast fibre and balancer and mine seem to prefer this. The fast fibre is very low sugar starch and you have to soak it as well as it has a high element of sugarbeet but other good stuff as well such as vit/mins so you could do away with balancer etc.
