My horse isn't a fan of drinking water at shows, so I wondered about making up some very watery sugarbeet to convince her to have a drink as its so hot at the moment. We hack there and back, if I do it would I need to wait an hour to ride?

No need to wait an hour. That's a rule for if you're giving scoops of cereal feed and wanting to work fast. A bucket of fibre feed and a plod home at the horses preferred speed for the first hour will do no harm. I used to do the sugar beet thing with one who wouldn't drink at shows. I only needed a small amount of sugar beet per bucket of water.

Endurance Riders will feel sugarbeet during a long ride, it's fibre so safer than feeding buckets of cereal
