Has anyone else found that Speedibeet sends their horse a bit loopy? Horse is quite excitable in general but last couple of weeks has been even worse and the only thing I can think of that’s changed is I’ve started feeding Speedibeet..
so I’m thinking of cutting him right down to just a simple chaff and balancer and hoping that and turning him out overnight might help🫣

One of mine was in the past. I stopped feeding it but later found that local forage was very high in calcium as is Speedibeet. So the calcium/magnesium ratio was off. I was ok when i was feeding magnesium.

Yes I have in the past with my boy he went schizo on it in the winter so no grass around.

I now prefer Simple System Purabeet, better and not schizo horses. https://www.simplesystemhorsefeeds.co.uk/products/viewhorsefeed.asp?id=5&name=PuraBeet

I would be surprised to see speedibeet making much of a change to behaviour and as above, suspect this is the grass coming through.

Thank you - I did wonder if it might be this, grass is definitely starting to come through and it’s still the awkward time of year where I can’t have them out 24/7 just yet, so he’s still being stables from 6pm-7am.. so possibly the combination of the two means he has too much energy😅 might start giving him a quick lunge before doing anything overly exciting such as jumping
