Yesterday (Tuesday), when Spencer was kept in hospital yet again with his bladder massively swollen for a 2nd time and incontinent and not eating, things looked terribly bleak. Just spoken to the vet, who couldn't have been more dedicated if Spencer had been her own moggy - and amazingly he has improved beyond belief! I put it down to Llwyncwn's remote healing advice too! They tried a totally different approach and gave Spencer ACP! Apparently it relaxes smooth muscle and the bladder sphincter is smooth muscle. They think he had reblocked because his whole urinary system had been so traumatised and was so painful that he couldn't bear to have a pee. So he was trying to hold it in but it was leaking out as the sphincter too had been traumatised. So the ACP relaxed the sphincter and he peed a lake! Now eating little bits and on anti inflammatories, though have to be careful as they can cause further kidney damage if used long term. No more crystals in his urine, just white blood cells which shows his body is fighting the infection. The plan is that he comes home tomorrow {{little weep}} and then returns weekly for a few weeks to have a weekly ACP injection so that we know definitively that his bladder is empty/emptying. Also allows the vet to have a good look. Realistically, he'll probably have more episodes but HE'S COMING HOME!!!!!!!!!! And what I haven't learnt about cranberries, water fountains, dry cat food, PRESCRIPTION dry cat food etc etc is unbelievable. Thanks again everyone who helped. Even good wishes helps hugely at these times xxx
