gave up keeping her all neat and tidy over winter as she is unclipped, but decided today to get everything done! she loved it. she was grooming everything she could get her mouth on, including a metal pole :p

it was too dark to get a photo of the finished product, but i got one of her clean trimmed legs!

she looks better now, i promise!
YO said shes got the chest and neck of a bull, couldnt work out whether that was a compliment or not?! cant believe she was like a rake when she came to me!

did anyone else give up keeping their ponies tidy, or was it just me?

Nope! Mine is like a teddy bear!!
And her stables leaking so she is soaked when we get down of a morning - PLUS she is a query Cushings so has gone very curly too!!
Covered in thick curly fur, poo, wee, straw...!!
Took the rake to her the other day got a full wheelbarrow of fur out of her, combed every knot out of her mane tail and even feathers!
hoof oil, shine spray, the lot...
got down this morning...she looked back to normal XD
yours looks lovely in the photos!!
K x

glad to hear im not the only one!
i find her lying in poo every morning without fail, im sure her nice white socks will be green tomorrow!!
my stable is leaking at the moment too! as if their beds arent bad enough without the extra water! haha x

I wish my pony looked that clean if thats b4 u started grooming! I thought i would let mine out for some fresh air without his rug whilst i mucked out, this was the result!

haha! okay, i feel better now. you got a big grooming job on your hands :P
ive been there, but it was on a nice hot day so i was able to just throw the hose on her!
he looks very proud of himself :D

Pffft!!! I'm not even going to bother! Mine have gone feral and Snip is making the most of it!!!

Luckily the grey un isn't a bad roller, but Snip is beyond what I think is reasonable!

Yes he seemed very pleased with himself as he came back to the gateway to show me what he had done then shot off across the field...typical cheeky little welsh! lol

Okay, I admit to keeping on top of the mud and poo :o

She has a stable rug on at night 'cos she lays in all the wee and poo. Glad I don't do morning turnout 'cos her rug is DISGUSTING :D

She has a turnout rug with a high neck to reduce the mud collected whilst rolling.

Also, 'cos I ride most days she is thoroughly groomed before and after riding. Even if I don't ride she is groomed before bedtime.

Finally, she is a strawberry roan/mostly chestnut in the winter, so doesn't show the stains like a grey would anyway :)
