So went and picked Spidey cake up last night after her nerve blocks and scans and xrays etc.
Vet said that she has suspensory damage, but not bad so could have the shockwave treatment but if in a few weeks that hasnt worked he would suggest the op. So he said he suggest's we go straight for the op which we agreed with, so either mon/tues or weds morning she will have her op
very worried about her
Apprently there is a 1 in 4 success case with the op so please all fingers crossed for her.
Also on nerve blocking the hinds she moved lovely behind yet still a bit gobby in the mouth so they x-rayed the mouth finding she has painful wolf teeth hiding in her gums
poor pony, so she will have those out whilst she is out with the op as well.
Also needs a bit of corrective shoeing on the fronts to raise the heel slightly. I can not believe this horse has been working/competing/SJ eventing etc with these problems
she is such a tough mare!
The recovery is around 3months, 2 weeks complete box rest, 2 weeks where she can come out to be mucked out but I think we will just do complete for a month. And then I can start hand walking her, but still no going out. Then by the 3rd month I can hopefully start to hack her.
So please all fingers crossed and good luck vibes for Spidey next week, I just so hope it all goes well and is a success as I really miss riding her
And she will be such a cracking horse if it is a success
