.....waiting for his Kissing Spine operation.

He didn't travel too well ont he way to Willesleys and got very sweated up and kept kicking the walls (4 hours is a long time

).

We got there and once he had calmed down he was re xrayed, they showed that his KS had actually got worse since the last xray in December

.

It has been decided to remove 2 vertabrae which are impinging which will hopefully give him the best outcome and reduce the risk of needing further surgery.

The operation will be tomorrow morning and we should know by lunch time how it went.

I feel awful being so far away from him an dfeel like there is nothing I can do for him. We won't be picking him up till a week Thursday so have a long time to wait to give him a cuddle.

Please send as many vibes his way as you can.

Oh gosh how traumatic for you - I remember dropping my old tb off at liverpool leahurst for this operation- it's heartbreaking for us! (The horses are no wiser!)

I've just got to say though that my boy was 200% better after the operation and i wouldn't hesitate to recommend anyone with ks to go for the op!

I am keeping everything crossed for you and hope for a speedy recovery.

good vibes go out to you my horse had the op on 16th january this yearand is feeling on top of the world since he has had it done, we were surpose to start the pessoa work last week but were put back as my horse has a mental issue with have a sursingle on his back so having to take things really slowly.
but its the best thing i have done for him as he was in so much pain, he had 4 operated on. Dr Svend Kold is great and so are all the staff there, he will so well take care of they fantastic, i know its hard but try not to worry, i had to wait a week to see my boy.
wish you all the luck and loads of vibes and hugs to you both

My old horse had the OP and came back to jump BSJA FoxHUnter again......They removed 2 on him as well and he never had any back problems again !!!

My thoughts are with you but I know from my experience he is in really safe hands and being well looked after. If you decide to go up and visit they will welcome you and as for Spike, if he is anything like Ryan, you will notice almost immediately how much better he feels about himself. If you need to pm me with any box rest tips or anything on the rehab, don't hesitate am more than happy to answer any questions
