Just got back from Fieldhouse and He was brilliant.
Scored 75% in the dressage [and he deserved it ]
Then in the jumping which was big and spooky and causing loads of problems ,he excelled, jumped everything huge but lovely clear and won by 16 marks[ they don't use percentage in final score] So qualified for winters at Hartbury .So pleased.

Fantastic - well done!

Hello
smile.gif

Firstly well done for such a great dressage score and a good SJ round!
Sorry to butt into your post but I'd love to do some combined training with my mare and wondered how I could find out which venues do it. ATM I'm not registered with BD and know I'd have to do that first but I'm not sure if there are any venues up here (NE) that do CT and would like to find out before joining (although am considering joining to do straight dressage anyway).
Also what height are the fences in the prelim and novice classes? I'd be grateful for any info.
Thanks.

There are 20 qualifiers around the country and 3 levels , 1st and 2nd qualify.Jumps vary a bit but brit nov height or just under for prelim and disco to newcomers height for open novice in between

Well we're just starting BN at BSJA at the moment so I think I'll need to get that a bit more established first. Certainly wouldn't be ready for anything at Newcomers height thats for sure! Would it matter if you weren't eligible for prelim in straight dressage? What I'm thinking is I don't want to register BD and do straight dressage and then make myself only eligible for Novice CT. We are currently competing Novice unaffiliated and my trainer wants me to start thinking about doing elementary in 2008.

Well done - someone form our yard was there and won the prelim, got a good score in the dressage for CT but retired in the jumping - I heard it was a tough course!

They are listed in the BD mag in the back.
ann jen , you can have up to 75 dressage points to do the prelim cb and 150 dressage points for novice[ maybe they will go up in line with points increase expect]prelim is 2'9" novice 3'3" ,open 3'6" I think.
I also think there is only 1 or 2 left this year!

I would have praised his breeder but I can no longer remember her name ,it gets complicated, but she has posted a bit higher up, yes you breed lovely talented ,trainable horses.THANKS

Think we will definitely go for it next year then - thank you! We will start off doing the prelim and should be ready to do novice by middle of the year. Am quite excited and trainer will be over the moon (she was quite disappointed when we affiliated SJ and not BD). Thanks for the info.
