Hi
I am thinking of trying these for a section a type mare I have, she is a companion so not worked. I need something I can give a handful of in order to get her suppliments into her, so I was thinking of soaking about a mugful for this purpose. She doesnt really like chaff hence my thoughts as this as an alternative.
Any thoughts/ experiences appreciated x

Oh should add she is a good doer so it's not required for weight gain.

I would use Fast fibre for this purpose as its low cal and low sugar and will soak in 90 seconds. Only if the horse doesn't like at would I go for any normal nuts, even the high fibre ones as they are a little higher in sugars and also designed more for feeding unsoaked rather than being soaked, tho they can if you do it long enough.

I use spillers high fibre cubes just like this for my 3. Probably just half a mugful soaked for 12 hours in a little water makes up into a mash which is perfect for adding supplements into but with little feed value. Suits my purposes perfectly.

Me too, literally a mugful added to about 200g of timothy chop and a big scoop of gritty supplements. Add water until the cubes go mushy, then mix. It gets polished off and the bowl gets licked clean :) High Fibre cubes are apparently totally delicious...

I use them as training rewards too.
