Got my feed seller to special order one of these in for Shy ( who is a typical dales/gyspy leaning toward fatty in summer). I want to give him to have vits and mins, and a hoof formula - but he demolishes the Dengie Low Cal horse lick in a few days. So I thought we'd give this a go.

Anyway, got hold of this, as it's the cheapest I've found, and have read really good reviews. (£18 a bag). I'm giving him one mugful an evening, and he seemed to be very taken with it tonight.

Anyone else using this ? sm xx:)

No but shall watch with interest, ideally i'd like to out my lad on this and spillers cool chaff, he currently on apple chaff and cool mix, he also puts weight on easily and as i'm going to start competing regularly after a 3 year break i would like him to have a good diet to fuel him :)

I've used it for my fell since they launched it. I love it - he gets 400g a day and i put 200g in his handful of hifi lite and 200g in his snack ball. His coat is really shiny even though he's still in the process of changing his coat and is losing loads of hair. Big thumbs up from me!

In mugfuls, how much is 400 mg a day ? It doesn't say on the bag.. (me being very thick here, and having no scales - long story, but basically I'm a crap cook)...

Great stuff!!!! My horse is a fatty so is getting no hard feed just lite balancer and Hi Fi lite he looks great!!! Coat really shiny:)

Hi PC !! I have high hopes for the stuff, always wanted to use a balancer, but never been able to afford it (still can't......) sm x

Not 100% sure about how many mugs - I'd guess maybe one and a half-ish. I weighed mine out on the kitchen scales! But if you call the Spillers helpline I heard a rumour that they may be producing a plastic measuring beaker. Or, alternatively just ask at your feed merchant and see if they have a measuring beaker - mine gave me a TopSpec one to use (after I'd faffed about weighing with the first bag) and it's marked on it - reckon TopSpec and the Spillers Balancer must weigh about the same.

really like there balancers gives horses really good coat and they look really well. Shouldn'twork out more expensive in the long run as a bag of balancer should last you some time

Worked out one bag of mine should, in theory, last about 50 days. Which if you're paying £20 for a bag works out at 40p per day.
