Im a very happy horsey mummy today!

Had the Spillars nutritionalist Isabel visit the yard last night. She weighed and 'point scored' all the horses at the yard.

The points system was on a 1-10 basis. 1 terribly poor, 5 perfect and 10 obese. Baba Xander and Tessa were 5's and my chunky monkey cob 5.5!! So I was amazed, she recommended lost of different feeds and gave lots of advice!

I would recommend everyone to try and organise this! 12 horses or more qualifies for a free visit.

Lets play guess their weights

Xander - 14 month old gypsy vanner standing at 13.2hh
Tessa - 18 year old arab x welsh d standing at 14.1hh
Claudey - 12 year old cob standing at 15.3hh

We all guessed before they were weighed and it was interesting to see the results! Cakes for the winner heheheh

I'm not even going to attempt to guess the weights as I am absolutely rubbish at it :D

Isabel is fantastic - she has been out to our yard twice now, the last time being 4 weeks ago. She is extremely helpful and her advice is great! Not once has she ever tried to push Spillers feeds onto us (though the money off vouchers are a geat incentive). We have already pre-booked our next visit in February!

Unfortunately my boy, 14.3hh cob, came out as a 6 on the condition score this time :o - he had been a 5.5 back in February, so her feeding advice is very welcome.

ETA - You only need 10 horses for an evening visit (she starts at 3pm when she comes out to us) You need 25 for a weekend visit, and I think its 5 for a daytime visit.

Xander - 320kg?
Tessa - 450kg?
Claudey - 590kg?

Phil had a yard visit too, 15.1hh welsh D, 5 on the condition score and weighed 556kg :D

Bertolie I didnt realise it was only 10 :)

Shes fab isnt she! Yup your right never pushed spillers on any of us.

XROBYN! not a bad guess :)
