Spin off- Funny horse names

My husbands ferrari!

My friend wanted to call her horse this but instead he was called Fred.

I had one called Mayday. Unfortunately she died as 2 yr old but had I taken her eventing as was intended a friend commented that she was looking forward to me shouting Mayday! Mayday! as I flew round out of control!!!!
 
my friends got a horse called mayday because she was born on....you guessed it......mayday! and she also has a horse called squidge

and my boy was christened Gallopino Bradleyface by one of the other liveries.
 
ATM i know one called nimo, hes a chunky stallion, looks like a welsh a/elephant!

we have a barbie at the yard and one has just come called bungee, which is quite random
it always makes me wonder who thought of the names and why, my friends tb mare was called Thursday as when she called to insure her they asked for a name and she didn't have one, it just so happened to be a Thursday!!
i also new a lovely palamino called Tea Bag

Talking of Willies my dad had a 18HH horse called William "willy" for short. My baby brother used to ask to go and see "Daddy's big Willy" !!!
 
I was going to call my cat Rabbit! Called him Bosworth instead!! Equally as stupid!!

Was thinking of calling him Thieving Pikey Bar Steward so that when I went to the vet they would have to shout out " Thieving Pikey Bar Steward!" But thought better of it!!!

Is your horse a dapple grey. About October 2005 I phoned up about a horse for sale called Muppet! She was 15.2hh, 5 year old dapple grey.

My horse is called Mark which I think is a daft name!! I usually end up calling him Markie Boy though!

I have a Sprout, and used to have a Bug and his best friend was called (still is called) Vermin.

We're hoping to event Sprout and although her registered / passported name is Silver Spirit there's already one competing so we were looking for other names. Current favourites:

My White Bicycle
Someone Else's Horse
How Do I Know

As the commentator says: Here comes Jane Smith riding Someone Else's Horse . . . . you get the drift!

She'll probably end up boringly being Silver Spirit II!

Livery at our yard has a horse with a perfectly respectable name - Chester - but he is known as The Velocoraptor after (I think) he bit someone's ear off!!! Personally I would NEVER buy a horse called Thunder or Dynamite or NoBrakes or stuff like that! I prefer Mr Plod or Sweetie Pie or CanOnlyWalk! But then I'm an Olympic standard wimp!!!! (But a happy one!)
 
Your post has spooked me a bit. The old yard I was at had an ex racer called Bosworth Bay and his nickname was Pikey!!
We now have sam = sammy whiskers
penny = penny poppins
domino = domino donkey
nashend seafarer = freddyfrog
and the new arrival is Sundar = sunny honey

My old JA pony was called Playboy. I had a horse called Batman once which was quite cool!! When I had Batman I also had a horse called Robbi in the same field so that was quite funny. I have also had a Zorro. The most annoying name I had was a little exmoor pony in for schooling, he was called Norman!
A mare I have is called Amara Van Het Der Bruishank!!! We call her hetty for short! We've also had:

Breeze
Pumpkin
DJ
Hogwart (he was a hogged hunting cob, we changed it to Bob!)

etc. etc LOL I really feel sorry for some horses !!
 
There's a point to pointer I've seen around the South West Circuit called
"Across the Highman" - which obviously slipped through the Weatherbys net.

Probably the best I've come across - although a cat called "Mouse" (owned by vets) is also fairly comedy...
