We've done our faults - what about the things you are best able to do on or around horses?
I think I'm good at teaching horses to lunge correctly. My youngster hadn't a clue when I got him and now a child could lunge him. He even does correct walk to canter and canter to walk on the lunge.
I'm also pretty good at improving cadence and rhythm in the trot. I'm good at teaching counter canter and changes.
I'm still crap at most other things!

Walk to canter transitions, riding a horse round a course, instilling manners on the ground, jumping! Oh and I like to think I am a good teacher (as in teaching a rider) too

i would say im good at waking up reluctant and lazy horses, unfortuently i was wake up the ones that are already awake

, i am also good at teching manners on the ground, i like to think my lots manners are lovely now, and jumping any horse over pretty much anything, have no fear!

Riding bolshy natives. I don't like skinny fizzy horses but give me a napping disobedient native and I'm in my element. I get a real kick out of the fact that I bought a horse that "won't canter" and she will now do a beautfiul walk to canter transition. (still working on trot to canter

Making the sanest, safest, ideal for a beginner horse take off around the arena 3 times in quick succession whilst performing flying changes crossing the centre line. Plus jazzing up other slower than normal ponies, so could say I'm good at riding them forward & seem to get results from them.

Patience - am very happy to just sit and let a horse settle.

Oh and I never give up, always always give 100%

Other than that - nada, and really struggle with my own confidence which makes matters 10 x worse

You definatley are, could you see me EVER going over those jumps without you there over Summer?! lol!

Erm...am OK at walk to canter transitions...well I was when I last did them, but that was sometime back in August *grumbles at un-canterable horse* lol... and thats all I can think of.

Im good at getting lazy horses going, much prefer something that needs pushing that something that spins amd flies all over. Im much happier on my chunkier types than anything tb/arab. Dont mind spins but as im tall i need something to tak up my leg and tbs/arabs dont really do it for me.

I much prefer taming the energy if a fizzy horse ( cannot really stand a lazy plod!) hence i love tb's especially ex racers, i think its rewarding being able to harness their energy and put it to good use, giving more expression in their paces etc

not saying lazy horses have no expression etc i give full credit to those people who get the best out of those horses, i know how much work goes into it, but my prefernce is a bit of a nutty horse (bit like me really!) lol

Happy birthday lol. Yeah i can control the energy etc but i prefer horses a bit more laid back, i dont know what it is, I just like horses that dont fly of on the six pence if they are being naughty. Its just me im a weirdo, i like them all giddy etc but if you stick me on a tb i dont feel with the horse at all.

Mucking out, trailing around the field trying to catch the idle b***ers and paying the vets and feed bills. Did I miss anything?

Good at diagnosing problems (reasons for bad 'attitude', unsoundness etc) & tend to get the best out of horses from the ground. Ridden-wise, not much! Tend to be a bit of an 'expert' from the ground but can't put my money where my mouth is!

I good at entering stuff when I really haven't got a chance ie, Elementary dressage as my second dressage test, Intro on a horse that had done 1 XC before in its life

am good at being patient and calm, have been known to sit on a horse for 4 hours before just trying to get it to walk and trot calmly!!
teaching horses manners when they are jumped or schooled, can't stand horses who don't have any!

I am great at being a silly perfectionist who can rarely settle for her current abilities; been always told I am good with 'hot' horses and I agree

Good with youngsters.
I am also good at staring at/absorbing in everything that helps me to become a better teacher/coach/trainer.
Best at teaching (much better than performing myself!) or maybe just enjoy it best.

groundwork, when we first got our girl as we were novices evryone was going "what have they bought!!" she knew how to take advantage and we wernt sure what to do, but when she got a susspensory injury we had to walk her and hand graze her, so we spent alot of time leading, she would rench our arms out for grass and barge out stable as if you wernt there, from a 14h new forest!! but now she will walk calmly, you can stop her whenever and she will only go for grass when you allow her to, she doesnt puch you over when you come in with her feed, she steps backwards without a word to let us in the stable and waits while we put it on the floor!! i never thougth she would do it.!!

am so proud tehehehe

also good at gentle tateral work, my girl would flatout refuse to move sidewards and just sped up, now she yeilds like dream, all in one week!!!

I like to think I'm good with all horses on the ground - all the horses and ponies we've had for as long as I can remember have always had lovely manners and no vices, even the ones that came with some issue! Mother must have taught me well...

Oh and of course spending lots of money on horse feed, bedding, rugs, rugs, more rugs and vets bills! Riding wise - hmmm, can sit any buck! Having said that I'll probably be out the side door this weekend!

I'm good at my job which pays for my horse!!!!!!!!
wink.gif

I think I'm quite an even tempered person and always consistent and I think that's one of my main qualities - I usually to get good results anyway and my attitude tends to benefit the youngsters!
smile.gif

I'm good at ground work - I'm a whizz at long reining!!!!!!
I've been told I'm a very quiet, sympathetic rider and I don't 'mess' with my hands and 'nag' with my legs!
