I'm hopefully getting my brace off this week after fracturing my spine. I want to get cracking with the best possible physio asap, and am happy to pay ridiculous amounts.

Does anyone have any recommendations? Warrington-ish area.

I walked, starting from the day I came home. In fact thinking about it, I was padding round the hopsital barefoot before I came home. Everyone I spoke to said it was the best thing I could do. I got up to about 60 miles a week fell walking in the end. and I was fit and strong and fairly pain free. I was in metal for 4.5months in the end. Its a weird and horrible feeling when it comes off! I felt incredibly vulnerable.

I have never found physio much good, but several sports therapists have been good and two absolutely outstanding, so might be worth casting your net wider, and looking at other therapists.

Yep, I was walking around the hospital before I left, and I'm already walking a couple of miles a day, which is as much as I can fit in around work.

But all my muscle has dissolved into fat, so I'm gonig to need to hit the gym, and I want to do it under the guidance of somebody who absolutely knows what they're talking about.

I don’t have any names but mine, up here in Scotland, transformed me. Bent spine, broken in several place, new hip, spinal fusion resulting in stenosis, horrible nerve pain etc etc. He was an orthopaedic physio and was incredible! I’m upright, the scoliosis has gone, got an inch back on my height. I can do a mile easil, I try to do it twice a day, but the stenosis is a problem there, nerve pain down about 75%. All good

If you can face going to Crewe, the Radcliffe Group is brilliant. It's hands on, stretching, acupuncture, reformer machines...you name it. I can't recommend them highly enough.
