Spirulina is what is in myoplast. Third of the price but is algae so palatability may be an issue. Used by a friend to help her TB build top line after kissing spine surgery.
Thank you both...vets were trying to get me to use myoplast but I wont because of the sugar content...so looked up 'magic' ingredient and here we are re spirulina
I feed spirulina to support my horse's immune system and to help with allergy management; it's an expensive way, though, just to add protein but, having said that, it is a complete protein and on just 40g/day she looks amazing. Our hay is horribly low protein so this just tilts the protein levels of her diet in the right direction over and above its main role as respiratory support. Lysine supplementation is going to be more economical.
