Hey

Just a quick question.

Jaguar has been diagnosed with a splint (new yesterday).. I have been given DMSO by the vet to apply for 10 days.

Now she initially advised rest for 10 days but then said 'or' he could be 'lightly' schooled on a soft surface...

I think I'm airing more to the 'rest for 10 days' but wondered what would your advice be regarding riding?

Thanks :)

Thanks PF - I certainly know that some peoples view is to carry on.. but I'm not so sure!

Will give Jangly Beans some time off ... AGAIN! LOL

Definitely rest - but then mine was lame with his so couldnt possibly have ridden him! Good luck - I hope it goes down. I had great success with shockwave treatment.

I'd rest and use magnet boots too - my boy threw a small splint a couple of years ago, he was rested for 3 weeks (mainly due to me being unable to ride due to hospital visit) but magnet boots on daily. If you could find that splint today I'd shake your hand! Its all but gone.

Rest so it gives the splint bone time to settle again, though it will never go back, but with proper rest and care it will cause no more worries!
