Splintex Silver - advice

My 5yr old TB threw a split 4.5 weeks ago just as I was going on holiday so he's had the time off but the splint is still a bit warm (he's trotting around the field sound and has been for over a week).

I'm just wondering about trying Splintex? The splint definitely grew in the time I was away but he was in during the day and out at night and had his legs hosed, ice boots, bandaged etc so he was very well looked after. He's not one to go mad in the field very often.

Has anyone used Splintex silver and had good results? Do horses have to be on box rest when using this?

I found it did seem to work with the one split one of mine developed years ago. I didnt box rest. I think I remember the hair fell out a bit on the area but the splint did seem to disappear.

Did the hair grow back ok?

I used this on a TB who threw splints on both fronts, after being recommended by a friend, didn't make any difference.
