Splints - Do lemons work????

My horse has a small splint on his foreleg. It is hard and been there a little while.

I have heard a possibly wives take that half a lemon on the leg overnight over time reduces the lump. Is this true or myth?

Anyone got any suggestions as to how to erradicate it??

Haven't heard that one - I would go straight for the Splintex

Sorry, I have no idea of what is in it, or how it works, but have heard enough anecdotal stuff locally to be convinced that it does

I've heard this one too, recommended to a friend by a local top producer BUT... someone else said it works by blistering the leg, and is very very severe, causing a lot of pain.

The friend didn't try it!

A lemon causing severe pain? I doubt it! Even Splintex doesn´t cause pain-

i have heard of olive oil being used on splints and lumps/bumps. scrub the splint with an olive oil soaked toothbrush for a good few minutes a day - was said to have worked a bit but not removed it 100% but it was a big splint to start off with!

Nope, I tried it and it did nothing. I did get Splintex and I do think it worked. I have photo's of before and after using it. PM me you email if you want me to email them to you.
