Hi Everyone, Im in need of some advise if anybody can help me please!
I have a 5 year old 16.3 ISH Gelding, never really pushed him just did a bit of schooling, hacking and jumping, In June he started developing a splint. At the time we had no idea what this was as there was no physical signs, no lump etc. He has been lame on and off ever since. On our last trip to the vets about 6 weeks ago they said the splint should be fully healed in about 4 weeks, he had x-rays, ultra sounds the works! I did my first canter with him on saturday in what seems like forever, nice and steady on the soft ground, I walked him around and then went back into trot and he was lame again! Has anybody had a similar situation? How long should this take to heal? I am planning on resting him for another month now! I just want my boy sound again. Thank you for your help, Katie
