Are they still splints?! G has got a big one on the inside of his nearside hind, about halfway up his cannon bone. It is hard, doesnt bother him when prodded, and seems to have come up quite quickly.... also has anyone found anything that works on hardened splints?! He had a newly formed one caused by messing around in the field on his front leg, but that went with use of magnotherapy and time! But does anything work on hardened splints?!

Hi, splints.... the bane of my life, lol. Every horse I have, seems to have them or get them and I don't even trot on roads or anything stupid, ah well... Anyway, my new mare has (had her 6 months so maybe not new

) has a splint on the outside of her hind leg, under the vetting it was called a 'boney growth' and not a splint. I've used comfrey cream on another horses splint with some effect but not spectacular. Am going to try it on this mare when I get the time. Time is the best healer I think, they deffinately disperse a bit and reduce in size after about a year.
