Hiron had a splint when i bought him- it was slightly protruding and pretty obvious. I looked at his legs the other day and its definitly gotten smaller almost to the point where its gone! I know splints cant just go but can the reform and if this is what is happening will he be in pain

has this happened to anyone else?

I had a horse throw a splint as a yearling. They disappeared towards the end of the year, then came up again as a 4yo, although much bigger. There was no (visible) pain at all though, and no lameness.

I found this article quite interesting; http://www.kmeliteproducts.co.uk/docs/SplintexDataSheet.pdf which I found when looking up stuff called splintex (see post below)

Hirons splint was on the outside of his leg it was a really hard lump and now it just seems to have practically disappeared. do you think i should contact my vet? he dosent seem in pain at all and he is sound i am just afraid that it is something bad?

It might have just been a kick or concussion injury. If he is sound, I wouldn't worry too much. If you are concerned try calling your vet and ask their opinion, although I doubt they will do anything if it has disappeared and he is not lame. Don't worry too much, just keep an eye on the area and check for any changes.
