Hi there, recently i had my horse lent out by a family member without my permission, to somebody who raced her! This race ended badly as she ended up splitting her tendon in her back leg on her hock. She has been seen by a Vet who then reffered her to a specialist. The vet said with excercise she will be rideable but wont be able to jump again or run about much. This injury happened beginning of september and the swelling has not gone down. Some of it feels hard and some of it is squidgy as though there is still fluid inside it, it also still feels hot on the squidgy area. I am currently riding her out at weekends when its not dark and she is doing great but i haven't trotted her with me riding her yet. She runs about in the field like a usual hyperactive thoroughbred so im not too worried about her physical performance as i thought i would be but im worried about the swelling! Is there anyway that i can reduce it?
Thanks
