Hello, my o/h works for a company which manufactures/ distributes sunglasses. They have recently aquired a new brand which used to be known in the UK but has been out of it for a while although it is still big in Europe.
Anyway o/h has been speaking to his boss today about possibly trying to get into the equine market (due to lots of nagging by me I think
) and his boss has got quite excited and decided they should have a tradestand at Badminton and Burghley next year and sponsor the British Team
he has told o/h to put something together for him by Friday
and they will take it from there, so o/h has come home and asked me to do it for him because I have a horse so therefore am apparently an expert at launching products into the market
I have suggested that maybe Bramham/ Chatsworth/ Belton might be good events to exhibit at early next year, and rather than just sponsor the British Team, they should also sponsor a couple of amatures/ owner/riders (maybe even some hho'ers!), or up and coming professionals.
My main questions are, as a rider what would you expect from a sponsor ? The company would probably be willing to give away a fair bit of product, and looking for some feedback, maybe a couple of photos - not talking major photoshoots here, maybe just something of a rider walking a cross country course, want the rider to wear them when out and about. Would riders be willing to do any of this? They wouldn't be expected to give up much, if any time - just be seen wearing the glasses as often as possible (although with the British weather this may be never!) Do you think this would be ok? For an amature (sp) or up and coming rider they may also pay some money towards entry fees/ diesel, but they tend to spend all their marketing budget on their other two brands as they are more expensive products.
So do you think people would be willing to give a bit of feedback and have their photo taken wearing the glasses or are riders looking for a lot more from their sponsors today? What are peoples experiences of sponsors?
Wine and chicken fajitas if you have got this far, any help or ideas, or ideas of riders who might be a good ambasador for the brand would be great too, pm if you prefer. Thank you in advance xxx
