hi can anyone give me any ideas to stop my horse from being so spooky he is spot on with traffic, nothing fazes him on that score, its just everything else

You could get some friends to help you at home if you have an arena or secure field. Lots of things you can try to desensitise him.
Have friends with umbrellas, put tarpaulins on ground, have them blowing whistles, hitting cans with sticks, popping their head round a corner, putting a wheelie bin in a corner etc. etc. You know him so if you think he would be more confident if you lead him to start with then do that.
The secret is a little and often not all at once - the aim is to build his confidence not destroy it and make him more sensitive.
Alternatively you could try him with rescue remedy or one of the calming supplements on the market.
Out of interest do you hack him out alone or in company? Reason for asking, he may feel more confident with a more experienced horse that isn't fazed by anything.

i hack on his own and with a 14 year old cob but it doesnt make a bit of differance wether we are on our own or with others

Maybe he lacks confidence away from home? Have you had him long or are you still getting to know each other?
