The spooky pony was MUCH better this morning, walking sound again. I cold-hosed the wound again (a big blob of honey and pus came off), and he was actually ok with me touching it now. The swelling has gone down a lot.
Initially, I tried putting his meds in a syringe with apple juice (he loves syringes of apple juice), but they wouldn't dissolve enough to go through, so instead he was rather surprised to be getting a feed (he doesn't usually)! A handful of Happy Hoof, garlic, carrots, meds hidden in there, and more APPLE JUICE!! Yum!
He's still in the starvation paddock, but has been joined in there by a recovering laminitic mare, so he's got some company.
