spooky weather..have I done the right thing???

Is it just me, or does anyone else feel that they are just waiting for the wind to get up and the tornado to strike? Ominously quiet earlier, but now the wind is audible...it's as if the sky is taking deep breaths... Didn't bring pones in as more worried about a tree falling on stables ...but time for me to change my mind...before I go to bed any mo. What do you think? Leave 'em out or bring 'em in? Either way, I'll prob lie awake all night, listening for structural damage!!!

I've left mine out...as up in Scotland we had 100mph winds once which took the roof off my stable as my horsey stood eating her hay.
I have stables ready, but will leave them out...it's supposed to be windiest tomorrow early afternoon for us in the South West, and you can't keep them in for a whole 24hrs.

Teah. I reckon they'll look after themselves out...the wind is definitely getting up now.. I know it's not meant to hit until tmrw..but seems it couldn't wait!

I've left mine out as there are trees directly behind their stables. In fact they're surrounded by trees - hope they'll be OK.

Same here...they are out in a 10acre field. There are trees and an aged telegraph pole(which elec co promised to replace about a bazillion years ago..)near the stables...so I think I wd worry more if they were in..

Mine is in but he has to be as he has a poultice on his hoof! All the others are as well but that's the routine down the yard. No trees near the stable block and it's fairly sheltered so fingers crossed they will all be okay.
I know what you mean though, there was an erie quiet around with the weather earlier on today.

Wind has been howling here on the south coast of Ireland since 7.00pm. I brought the boys in as it has been lashing rain as well. Just going out now to give them their second batch of hay and make sure all is well. Hope all HHOers are well battened down as its heading your way!

im in south west scotland and awoke this am to lots of snow and a blizzard ongoing . have tried to get out my village 3 times but had to turn back.. horsey in stable happily munching hay.. we are 1500 ft above sea level and the winds are howling ....

Friend is going to put ours out later as not too bad here (SE) but someone put hers out first thing then brought in again as the horse was upset

Ours are stuck in until pasture rearrangement/ cow movements allow them to go back out again, and are now going barmy!
We're hoping to get them out for an hour before it hits again, but not looking good.

first time I have ever shut the top doors on our stables, and very glad I did last night it was howling and blowing rain everywhere!! poor things blinking like mad when I opened em up this morning lol!

I was awake about 4 this morning listening to the howling winds and battering rain, such a difference in such a short time span!

Its sooo nice and quiet here in the North West but I am just waiting for it to close in - and my mare hates wind - and she's just come into season. Lungeing tonight methinks! :-)
