Help I am so confused wonder if anyone give me some information. Have been in touch with Sport Great Britain today and just wondering what the benefits of registering with them are over getting a normal passport and getting it over-stamped. He is only eligible for Basic Identity passport SHGB as his mother my mare is registered Weatherbys and the Sire Irish Draught Society. Any information would be really helpful.

When you say a "normal" passport, what do you mean?

I'm presuming he'd also eligible for Wetherbys NTR and also IDHS(GB)?

I would get the cheapest passport from any of the breed societies - I'm assuming you want him registered/over stamped by SHB for future showing??

I would like to show him this year but don't whether a passport will make a difference as to what classes he can be shown in. I had him micro chipped and drawn a while back but could not work out which society to register him with he is eligible for ID but not Weatherbys as his mum was NTR as she has a bit of ID in her too she was very successful in the show ring as young sport horse unfortunately she had a terrible accident. I never really looked to deep into showing is not my thing I do it with youngsters to get them used to trailer and going out and behaving. He is fairly stocky at this age and think he will make either hunter or sport horse. He has good breeding on both sides but is not one or the other but I like to think he has the best of both breeds a nice boy who is very straight and well put together hence I think he has good potential as a show horse and is very laid back which always helps! The vet offered me a passport with a drawing for £37 but have already had him drawn when he was micro chipped but have mislaid it somewhere.
