Sport Horse Sales at Malvern

Anybody been to the sale which is held in September, is it worth a visit do you think I am after something very nice and I do have a decent budget. But as I am generally anti sales i was wondering if anyone had any personal experiences??
I'm looking for a youngster 3/4yrs to be produced for hunter classes
 
I bought a ready to break 3yro from there as a potential eventer- he was a beautiful horse and the most talented thing i have ever sat on but he was also the most unpredictable/dangerous horse i have ever known!

after 6 months of having him at home i took him to the yard i worked at and on the second day i was there he decked me and then stamped on me resulting in a broken sternum.

my boss (4**** eventer) rode him and subsequently bought him from me and seemed to get a tune out of him for 6 months or so and then he turned again and became too dangerous to ride and was PTS.

it put me off sales and also put me off buying 3yros- i now buy either broken 4yros or weanlings so i can see them ridden or do it myself from scratch.
 
You wont find a better place in the UK, I have bought a few there. The horse in my sig I bought as a 3 yr old. All are warrented and you can have them vetted at the sale. it is a good day out even if you dont buy anything.you see a lot of the top show producers there buying young hunters, you can see alot of good horses all at one place, when you think about the time traverling around to see horses one at a time.I hope to go and not buy anything, but then if something catches my eye at the right price.
 
There was a 4YO there last year that had won a lot of in hand classes at County Level, nice breeding went for £2,800.

The vets there are pretty good, the 2 we bought both failed.
 
Friends have bought nice horses there - both youngsters and already backed - I would say worth a trip
