Sports horse - silly question

Forgive the silly question but i only deal with horses under 34"

but what exactly is a sports horse/ pony? Is it a breed or a type??

Is there a registery for them and how do they qualify?? Sorry again for silly question but i really just dont understand what one is

It's simply a type, another way of describing a performance horse, in the same way that a horse could be described as a hunter. They are usually, but not always, a warmblood.

It seems like every country is claimin a sports horse.If people asked me about my horse Lance , I would say he was a Transylvanian sports horse, the ultimate Blood Horse.You had to meet him (and spend a few hours in A&E to appreciate this)
